Welcome To The End Verses — My Fifth Book
I said whenever I wrote my fifth book, I wanted it to be something special. Something that resonated with people. Every project I’ve done is a little piece of me. I had the concept in my head for a little bit, but it hit me the morning of the Las Vegas shooting. I wanted to say something.
The End Verses came together relatively quickly. It took about a week. I would say it was wrapped up last Monday. Halloween is my favorite day, so I wanted to release it then. This is with the exception of “Exit Interview.” That is like a bonus track. That’s the first poem I wrote after my grandma passed at the end of 2015.
We live in a world that is reactionary. Sometimes, the craziness is too much and we have to retreat and remember what makes us great. We wait for the end to come instead of living in the present. Especially now, it’s important to find things to be hopeful about.
Somewhere in there, there’s love. There’s always love once you get through the darkness. These poems will mean something different to everyone. There’s a love story. There are different views before the world ends, but I hope it resonates with someone.
I’m also donating a portion of all sales to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. If you know somebody struggling, tell them you love them. Get them help. We want you here.
